Amitabh Ji : The Star of the Millennium

 Amitabh Harivansh Rai Bachchan born on 11th October 1942 at Allahabad, U.P. referred to as the 'Star of the Millennium' or 'Big B' had to pass many nights on the benches of Marine Drive because he did not have enough money to rent a room at Mumbai during his struggle days. Before stepping into the industry, Big B initially aspired to become a radio jockey at the beginning of his career. However, he was rejected by the All India Radio Station after an audition test because of his baritone. Bollywood did not embrace its biggest creation to be with open arms. It was a ruthless place where dreams were bought and sold and where deification of a silver screen god masked the plaintive call of a thousandbroken hopes lying crushed on an unfeeling studio floor. For some time it seemed that Amitabh's unconventional looks and great height would see him make his way back to a life of dejection. Every filmmaker that he approached thought he was too tall at 6 feet 3 inches. They thought him a bit too dark to be exposed on film. Then in 1969, when Amitabh was on the verge of giving it all up, came his break as Khwaja Ahmed Abbas cast Amitabh in Saat Hindustani and Bachchan was one of the seven. Amitabh Bachchan even has a record 12 flops before registering his first hit with Zanjeer. Even at the age of 73 Amitabh Bachchan is 'Shahenshah of Bollywood' and had received National Film Award for Best Actor (2016 - Film Piku) from President of India.
